Gira System 70

The System 70 is the seamless continuation of Gira’s minimalist design language into a new platform with large operating surfaces. Based on the Gira F100, this new, modular and forward-thinking range has four independent design lines: Gira F100, Gira F200, Gira F200 flat and Gira F300.

In 1966, we introduced a new type of switch to the German market: the first F100. The rocker became a unique design feature of these switches. A pioneering achievement in product design. In the decades that followed, we introduced the Gira F100 to our product range and continued to develop it. Other successor switches also benefited from this.

By the end of 2026, the Gira F100 will become the System 70, a new and powerful platform. With four design lines in five colours each, for flush-mounted or surface-mounted installation and in a flat variant. The modular, forward-thinking product range of the System 70 is at the cutting edge of both mechanical and electronic technology.

The four design lines, Gira F100, Gira F200, Gira F200 flat and Gira F300, in the new System 70 set new standards in terms of design, haptics and design freedom in building technology. With its large, planar surfaces and minimalist design language, the System 70 meets the most exacting aesthetic requirements and blends seamlessly into diverse architectural styles.

Gira F100, Gira F200 and Gira F300 are available as a surface-mounted variant in 1-gang to 3-gang frame variants. The two colour options, black matt and pure white glossy, ensure that the housings match the usual colours used for cable ducts.

Two specially developed boxes for cavity walls and masonry are available for flush mounting the Gira F200 flat. Both boxes are airtight according to DIN 18015-5 (EnEV).

The installation is therefore designed to be as simple as possible, and not just for the cavity wall box. The masonry box can be used flexibly in combination with the corresponding device carrier for a range of plaster thicknesses up to 3 cm. This makes it particularly easy to plaster into the masonry.

A skilled tradesperson can therefore directly and conveniently install the box without the need for separate, time-consuming plastering, meaning that no other professionals need to be brought in.

As a platform, the new System 70 can be flexibly scaled, from conventional installations with light switches, socket outlets, room temperature controllers or door communication to smart building technology that uses the Gira System 3000, Gira One or the powerful KNX Smart Home.

For any current and future requirements: the System 70 makes it possible to realise the project. Based on the new generation of switches and socket outlets and equipped with the new pushbutton sensors, the System 70 offers an extensive and modern range.

A special visual feature of the System 70 is the directly adjacent functional inserts when multiframes are used. This means that no crossbars are visible between any of the frame variants, resulting in smooth transitions from insert to insert – regardless of whether they are socket outlets, pushbutton sensors or simple rockers.

The ultra-modern full range of the new System 70 benefits from the latest advances in electromechanics, which are also used for the Gira System 55.

The completely redesigned new generation of switches, featuring a floating rocker, boasts maximum precision, perfect spacing, an especially flat switching angle and convenient installation by industry professionals.

The socket outlets have also been redesigned in line with state-of-the-art technology – for a future-proof choice for electrical installations in every respect.

Long-term climate protection requires short-term goals. That’s why we are gradually converting our new product range to reduced-carbon plastic. The cover frames of all four System 70 design lines in the pure white glossy colour variant are manufactured from plant-based raw materials right from the start of delivery. The switch base is also made fully from recycled material.

Alongside the material used for the new platform, the impressive scale of our Solar Park at the Radevormwald site is also a key factor in the sustainable production of the System 70.
