Flexible lighting design with a host of added benefits

Plug & Light makes indoor lighting smart and lighting control incredibly simple. Plug & Light is a permanently defined interface combining lighting control and power supply. When combined with appropriate light top units, the system offers easily-controllable indoor lighting – from dimming to warm dimming. The appropriate light top units can be easily and safely installed and replaced. A system with added benefits that offers the customer almost unlimited freedom in his lighting design.

Bespoke light planning

The position of the light socket outlet must be determined during the construction process. The switch design and light top unit can then be selected. This enables the home owner to remain flexible when planning his or her lights.

Smart light socket outlet

The gold-plated sliding contacts of the Plug & Light light socket outlet ensure that the communication between the insert and top unit is controlled, even without any configuration. They also enable 360° rotation of the light top units without a limit stop.

Functionally reliable dimming

Dimming from Gira enables flicker-free and functionally reliable dimming of Plug & Light lights as the products are optimally coordinated with one another. With the Gira Plug & Light spotlight even warm dimming is possible.

Flexible replacement

Plug & Light lights can be replaced in no time at all. An innovative set-up makes this principle possible: The light top unit is held in place on the light socket outlet with a strong magnet. Other light top units can be attached with no installation required.

Safe light solution

The light socket outlet offers a 12 V safety extra-low voltage. This makes the light socket outlet safe to touch – even if no light top insert is installed. Mechanical locking, a disassembly safeguard, protects against theft and inadvertent
loosening of the top unit.

Open Plug & Light network

As the first network partner of Plug & Light, Brumberg already presents five lighting series in the Plug & Light System. A lighting series comprises one wall light, one ceiling light and one pendant light. Other light manufacturers have also been called upon to create
new light designs and join the Plug & Light network.

Easy installation

Installation takes place in a commercially available European device box. Plug & Light is therefore ideally suited to new builds and retrofitting. Thanks to the locking option, Plug & Light is suitable for both private use and installation in public buildings and hotel complexes.

One light socket outlet – a whole host of options

Plug & Light light top units dock to the light socket outlet via a magnet. The light top unit is then immediately ready for operation, dimmable and continuously rotatable by 360°. Whether in the bedroom, living room or dining room, in the kitchen or any other room: The Plug & Light light top units ensure convenient and flexible lighting control everywhere. This is because all light top units can be easily replaced, even during operation. The customer can dock other lights without any need for installation, to achieve atmospheric lighting in no time at all.

The Gira Plug & Light light socket outlet can be combined with various Gira design lines from System 55. Matching Gira Plug & Light light top units are available in pure white glossy and black matt. All customer wishes can therefore be optimally met.

Installation

Bespoke lighting, easy installation

Easy, flexible and functionally reliable: The Plug & Light light socket outlet can be used in any commercially available European device box without assignment of parameters and commissioning. The standardised interface communicates automatically with the light top unit in the preferred design. The lights selected by the customer do not have to undergo a complicated installation and uninstallation process. Thanks to the magnet system they can be quickly docked and changed. A single electrical installation therefore offers the customer the option of a wide range of different light scenes.

Light socket outlet with lock

The light socket outlet is also available with a practical locking mechanism, which enables Plug & Light to be also used in public buildings and hotels. There is therefore never any risk of the flexibility of the system being able to be exploited.

Light socket outlet without lock

The light socket outlet without a locking mechanism is particularly well-suited to use in the home. Whether in the bedroom, living room, kitchen or the hallway – spotlights and wall luminaires can be easily replaced – even when in use.
